Buying Wholesale Fireworks? Know The Differences Between Firework Types

If you are buying wholesale fireworks for the first time, you may feel confused about all the different types of fireworks to pick from. Here is what you need to know about some common types.

Cake Fireworks

A cake firework is pre-wired with multiple shots that are set to go off in a pattern. There are multiple launch tubes interconnected with a fuse, and it will travel between each tube to fire them off in a specific order. Cake fireworks often have a wide base and point straight up to accommodate the multiple launch tubes, but can also be angled outward so that the fireworks display in a fan pattern that paints a larger part of the sky.

Bombshells

A bombshell fireworks come with a big mortar tube, which has a single bombshell with a long fuse that you place in the tube. You light the fuse, step back, and it will launch that bombshell high up into the sky to create a big explosion. You can only light one bombshell at a time, but the results are fireworks that are often bigger and louder than you will find with other types of fireworks.

Mines

A mine looks very similar to a bombshell, but with some key differences due to the effects that are made. It won't go as high as a bombshell firework, but it can have an eruption of effects due to the unique shell that goes inside the mortar tube. For example, in addition to the firework itself, it can produce noises or sparkles as well.

Comets

A comet firework looks similar to a comet. The mortar tube ejects a pellet that burns as it goes up into the sky, which produces a nice trail behind the pellet. Comets are not going to have a big explosion once the pellet burns up, since it just produces the comet tail.

Roman Candles

A roman candle is similar to a comet since it ejects pellets from a long tube with no explosion once the pellet burns up. What makes a roman candle different is that there are multiple charges in the tube, and once the fuse is lit, you will have several pellets eject in a row.

Barrages

A bigger version of the roman candle is a barrage. It simply has multiple roman candles that are bundled and fused together, and fire at the same time. This allows there to be multiple effects that go off at the same time, such as noise and crackles.
